Grant Readiness
We all know the Boy Scout motto, “Be Prepared” and we use it all the time in our lives. We try to plan for worst case scenarios both professionally and personally, and take measures to ensure we won’t be blindsided. Well, the same is true for grant preparedness. The quest to obtain grant funding sometimes skews our focus from the journey of preparedness to the prospect of funding. Grant readiness is essential to any grant seeking organization, as it requires us to think strategically about our organizations and how we can be best prepared (and be more successful) to obtain additional funding. Grant readiness requires organizations to look within and discover their internal capacity strengths and weaknesses, and address the obstacles before they hinder the grant seeking process.

This discussion will focus on your need to encourage creativity, flexibility and the overall capacity for individuals to recognize and respond to opportunity at every level of the organization. This discussion will provide you with tools and ideas to challenge the arcane internal procedures that actually hinder growth and will challenge the cycles of conformity which so many organizations follow.
